Darth Vader returns to comics on June 7th with an all-new series.
This new series starts at the moment Darth Vader takes his first mechanical breaths. Filled with rage and hate, he must come to terms with the thing he has become. Now ‘more machine than man,’ everything Darth Vader knew was lost in an instant. The power of the dark side may be astonishingly strong, but the weight of that power may be too much to bear.
An character as big as Darth Vader needs an all-star creative team, and Marvel really delivered. Charles Soule is handling the writing. Some of his notable work includes Swamp Thing, Red Lanterns (which I highly recommend), Thunderbolts, Superman/Wonder Woman, Death of Wolverine, Daredevil, and Star Wars: Poe Dameron. In just a few short years, he’s earned a reputation for saving struggling properties and making them can’t-miss titles (see Swamp Thing, Red Lanterns). Darth Vader, of course, is definitely not struggling. It will be interesting to see how he keeps Darth Vader true to character while making the book his own. This one is going to be a great read.
Giuseppe Camuncoli is a part of the Italian revolution that’s been taking comic art by storm the last few years. He’s best known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man which he has been drawing since 2011.
