FCBD 2015

On Saturday, May 2, AREA 52 COMICS AND GAMES will be giving away over 2500 free comics.

The biggest comic event this year won’t be found on-screen or at a large convention – it will be held in Oakwood, Georgia and admission will be 100% free!

AREA 52 COMICS AND GAMES just opened our doors in November, but the community has been great to us so far. To thank everyone, we wanted to do something really special for our first FREE COMIC BOOK DAY event.

Free Comics

Free comics. No gimmicks. No hassle. No catch. Just plain free.

Divergence  Fight Club 2  Doctor Who  SpongeBob  Secret Wars #0

Every customer that walks in the door will get free comics from our FCBD selection. The complete list of comics we’re offering can be found here. We’ll be starting at 5 comics per person (10 if you come in costume!) while supplies last. If turnout is huger than expected (we’re already expecting it to be huge), we may have to reduce the limits a bit.

All-New All-Different Avengers  The Tick  Avatar  TMNT  Teen Titans Go / Scooby Doo Team-Up

As part of the event, we’ll be holding our first annual AREA 52 MINI-CON featuring six artists. Among them will be:

Wilfredo Torres
  • Comic creator known for his artwork on Dynamite’s The Shadow, Jupiter’s Circle (with Kick-Ass writer Mark Millar), DC’s Batman ’66, Lobster Johnson, Quantum & Woody, and more.

So much fun! We are bringing our kids and will be there first thing in the morning! We are also hunting down a babysitter so we can come back that afternoon. and join the age of Ultron caravan.

I’m not too sure to be honest. Artists tend to go by their own schedules (even the ones here at the shop). I’m guessing they’ll be here for the open at 10 AM, but I haven’t heard anything definite yet. (-Denton)

Actually, scratch that previous post. Most of the artists will officially be here between 1pm-5pm, though some may come earlier (or stay later). We’ll update our social media sites to reflect the times.

There isn’t anywhere in England where you can get hold of comics, unfortunately it’s a dying commodity here.
